CMA Health Summit 2025: The politics of change

The CMA’s national forum for changemakers returns, this year with a focus on Canada’s evolving political landscape – and how to keep health care at the top of the political agenda.

The event – held in-person in Ottawa and online – will include insights from insiders and innovators, as well as opportunities for hands-on engagement.

Sessions will cover issues from navigating the AI revolution, to health care as an economic advantage, to advancing Indigenous self-determination.

About the Health Summit

The Health Summit brings together physicians, medical learners, people with lived experience and other partners across the health sector who want to create a better system for all.

The 2023 Health Summit explored What Health Care Should Be, with guests including federal Health Minister Mark Holland, climate researcher Dr. Courtney Howard, pollster Shachi Kurl from the Angus Reid Institute, patient partner Robin McGee, and health law and policy professor and author Timothy Caulfield.

Previous keynote speakers have included Dr. Verna Yiu, former president/CEO of Alberta Health Services, Dr. Jane Philpott, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Director of the School of Medicine at Queen’s University, and Dr. Jillian Horton, an award-winning physician, musician, writer and podcaster.
