Call for abstracts

The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and Doctors of BC are proud to present the 8th Canadian Conference on Physician Health (CCPH) taking place on Oct. 17–18, 2025, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia.

CCPH showcases both research and innovative initiatives addressing issues related to physicians’ health and wellness within the medical training and practice environment, while providing a forum for learners and physicians across the career lifecycle, researchers, educators, administrators and others to network and promote collaboration within the community.

Submission deadline: Apr. 7, 2025 at 6 am ET

We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for CCPH 2025.

Although submissions dealing with any aspect of learner and/or physician health and wellness are welcome, we are particularly interested in submissions that focus on this year’s conference theme:

Trust in care

Given the current geopolitical environment, and spread of false information, trust must remain core to the physician-patient relationship. As physicians are confronted with increased demand of care, administrative burden and challenging work environments, keeping a focus on trust is key. This includes trust between health providers, trust with patients and families, and trust in society overall.

Please keep this theme in mind when preparing your abstract and presentation.

In addition to this conference theme, we are also interested in submissions that consider one or more of the following sub-themes:

  • Co-creating the future: Examples include collaboration to evaluate and improve physician health and safety; how physicians can advocate within the system; and how health leaders can support physicians.

  • Strengthening patient-physician relationships: Examples include psychological and cultural safety in care; supporting Indigenous self-determination in health care; and managing misinformation and new technology.

  • Reimagining the culture of medicine: Examples include supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in the profession; addressing shame, perfectionism and imposter syndrome in medicine; and handling workplace conflict.

Relation to the main theme and/or sub-theme(s) will be taken into consideration during the evaluation and final selection process.

Submissions for all abstracts must be made electronically using the abstract submission form.
